Can I not crown myself if I my previous ruler was uncrowned?

I am a ruler of the Kingdom of Poland and was the ruler of the Kingdom of Hungary, which I've destroyed. However, I am uncrowned, and my previous ruler died also uncrowned.

If this a bug, or am I supposed to not able to crown myself?

I've solved it for now with add_trait uncrowned, but I am still confused as to how that came to be.

To clarify:
I was fighting an inherited faction war to install another claimant when I died, while uncrowned.

Uncrowned trait is given if ruler is not at war. It will be given only when the wars end.
