every time i attempt to install it, i go into winzip...and i just dont kno what to open teh file with. can some1 plz help me out?

Unzip it to the HOI folder, select overwrite/Replace files.
Also make sure you select Maintain/keep directory/folder structure.

1) Install 1.05
2) Download 1.05C.
3) Beta files do not have an auto installer. Therfore you must unzip them into the HOI folder.
4) You should select "overwrite All" option when unziping.
5) Also select "Maintain Directory structure" or "keep directory names" however it is worded on your program that unzips files. If using XPs built in unzipper, then this is automatic.
6) THat's it you are done, enjoy playing the new patch.

I think I'm having the same problem. When I run the "extraction wizard" (XP Pro.), and then select "overright all", I get no options about retaining directory structure, or anything similar to that. When I am finished, I get the excel error, even if I run the program from outside the manager. I have already downloaded 1.05, which appears in the upper right hand of the start-up screen for HOI. I just need the patch to avoid the 12/13/41 bug. Thanks for any advice.
The native extractor in XPpro will maintain the structure.
What you need to make sure is that you extract it to the HOI folder and not the .../HOI/something else which the extractor may default to.
