Hello,

i have a Problem with my Ironman Campaign.

Since last Thursday i'm having Problems with saving. After a few minutes, there is always a Error window when the game ist quicksaving. After that i also can`t save with the normal saving button.

The error say's that there is not enough space for saving or the name has special signs in it.
I didn´t changed anything, and before last week this error never happend.

My System details:

Windows 10 Pro
Systemtype: 64- Bit

Game Version: 3.2.1 (AZCE)

Thank you for your help :)

DXDIAG is a program you run from a command prompt or the Windows start menu 'run' dialog box (or 'search programs' in Windows 7 or later). After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach your Documents/Paradox/CK2/settings.txt.
From your Documents/Paradox/CK2/logs/ folder, attach system.log .

No obvious problems in those files, although you may as well update that nVidia driver:
https://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

And change these lines in settings.txt
refreshRate=60
fullScreen=yes
borderless=no

If those don't help; is this only happening in one particular saved game? Or also in any new campaign you start?

Now i tried it again after updating and changing the settings.
The problem ist still on and now the whole game seems the break up more often.
Also the lauching screens now took longer and in an other saved game it break up after a few minutes.

When you say "break up" you mean you get the failure to save error? Or a crash or something else?

after the update of the driver and a new start of the pc, the error in my campaign when i`m saving was still there. then i tried an other saved game, and in this game there was a total crash. i got to my desktop screen without any failure message and the whole game was closed.

That sounds like an unrelated problem then.

Was this in a new campaign started after the changes we made above? Or before them?

it wasn`t a new campaign. it was an older, also saved ironman campaign.
i think my whole computer has a problem with steam and so on.

i will try to restoremy computer and after that i will see if the problems are still on.

thx for your help.

if there are problems after that i will post it here again if it`s okay :)

Greetings Snorre

Good luck with that! Please let us know how it goes.

I also have that problem. It always happens when the size of the savegame nears 50 MB. When i conquered the world before India was added i didn't have this problem, but now perhaps the original max size of savegames is too small to process bigger late-game empires on worse computers. I posted something about this on the ck2 subreddit earlier this week, and from what i've heard it is a common problem. Sadly it is almost impossible for me to get the seven centuries achievement.
