I know Normandy is not something that should always happen, but I play in 867 A LOT, and I'd say I only see Normandy get formed naturally ( by that I mean a random Viking successfully invading it) in only about 15% of the games I play. This is too low! I'd prefer most of the time to have those big dumb Franco-Norsemen Doofuses running around adventuring all over Europe.

So I think this would be the perfect place for another one of those railroading game rules like the one for 1066 fate of England (funny how both of these would concern the de Normandies lol), just give it to Hrolfr at game start so Norman culture can guaranteed pop up in whatever 867 game your playing!

A game rule would be fine, but a 'mini-struggle' like the ones england got in the last DLC would be perfect for here I think.

In 867 there could be a special little mechanic for the holder of normandy in relation to relevant norse raiders. The more they get raided the more they want to make a deal to settle some norse there and make a vassal out of a relevant raiderlike Hrolfr. Then those norsemen could have ways to prevent more raids and will eventually become normans. It could even go so far as to encourage normans to invade England and Sicily, like the egnland events for 1066 can make a new england.

A few months back I did a Jewish run in Abyssinia and the Normandies took a duchy to my North.

Multiple mods do this. The lightest is Historicity but Historic Invasions and RICE each have their own take on it.
Those of us who bought the game through Microsoft store cannot really have access to mods. Plus, there is the fact that the mods will need sometime to be updated for compatibility after a patch is dropped. A rework should probably be in order in how Vikings are dealt with. A cowardly or incompetent ai defender should just give the land on the condition that they convert to local faith. That is how the incompetent Charles the Fat dealt with the Vikings.

Well i'd love to have mods, but sadly as apollo1989vieten put it, us MS store players are mostly outta luck on that department. Also at this point my Laptop already has performance problems running the game WITHOUT mods (oh god, it's so over for me when All under heaven comes out T_T).

Just out of curiosity, what drives someone to buy on the MS store instead of steam?
Its because I didn't use Steam at that time, until a couple of years back I only played on consoles, so I didn't have a Steam account set up yet.
I saw CK3 on sale on the MS store while browsing (This was around the time when the Norse flavor pack had just come out), and I had been wanting to get it anyway, saw I had the specs to run it, so I went for it.

Did I get burned on that Deal? YES. 1000 TIMES YES. DO NOT BUY GAMES YOU WOULD WANT TO MOD FROM THE MS STORE WHEN STEAM IS A OPTION.

But hey, you live and learn, now I only use steam for games, and I won't make that mistake again.
I'm not gonna re-buy CK3 on steam though, Way too deep in the hole at this point.
