Like most who have played multiplayer, the desync and player drops make the game unplayable. I understand the devs are 'working on it' based off of a recent tweet, but i would seriously like to see a dev speak to the matter here on the forums, where endless posts are answered with simple 'submit a bug report' replies.

I've read that some people are setting up VPN's and are having no issues, is this true? Is this a viable way to be able to play this game? I too spent around $200 between my friend and I to play this game and it was a nightmare of desyncs, reloading and trying to host etc. - since we started playing last summer.

99% of the time hot-joining doesn't even work, and re-hosting doesn't even have the game re-appear on the multiplayer server list without at times, both players fully quitting the game and restarting and even that has failed.

Is speed an issue? I've played on different speeds and it didn't matter. Getting every type of desync, and yes were using the beta opt-in.

Devs, is there a direct join or private server option that would help? Is this even a viability?

Devs, how are YOU playing this multiplayer or are you not? Is there any testing going on at all? I see in the bug reports basically NO responses. With the types of people playing this kind of game if you opened up to your fan base you would be shocked to see what HELP people can actually be to get a game we all are massively excited about working again for multiplayer. Seriously get a game going and see what the frustration is all about and maybe you will think twice about allowing this kind of mess to take place and ruin an expansion that has in its name, Federations, something that brought back droves of multiplayer fans. Setup a monthly Subscription fee, i'd pay it (i wont speak for others) if it were to solve this god forsaken problem.

the 2.6.3 patch was meant to fix most of this

if you are still having problems you have to understand and STOP YELLING about a few things

1) The pandemic that is currently going on has pretty much grinded most things to either a slow trickle or a halt.
2) People have to work from home if possible, this will impact their work flow as perhaps their home pc might not be as powerful/have all the tools that their office pc has [not to mention the fact that due to everyone not being in the same workspace it can tie up time to get things done].
3) They went on record, via their twitter page to say that this was not an easy thing to fix.

The lack of response shows no care to the player and provides no hope for multiplayer, how many 'i give up on multiplayer' posts does it take from player after player to sink in. I'm guessing you don't play multiplayer and havn't spent $ and put hours into a frustrating and broken product (try playing game after game and having to re-start and reload and transfer files) and see people on the forums get basically no responses or responses like yours, these are legit questions and i'd rather get a "no that dosn't work as a fix" then no response at all. All I've seen on the forums is a one-sided conversation with the players completely in the dark. If you play any other games I find this rather abnormal these days, i've seen fixes arrise from the players playing the games and using the forums to communicate to the devs but i don't see that interaction here at all and i'm not suggesting that the community needs to decide how the game is made, in fact I dislike companies that sell out to the whining of players but this technical problem could certainly be addressed a lot better. No feedback or confirmation of suggested fixes = guess what, no multiplayer.

I'm for the game and for multiplayer and even for paying more to get it running because there is a great potential product here. Also I'm not going to let this thread turn into a heated Covid debate, but these issues were pre-pandemic and on-going for quite some time. Lastly, If the issues are known, and complex to the degree your suggesting, then the game should not be marketed as Multiplayer at all because that would be a flat out lie & deception.

There are 10 or 12 MP fixes in 2.6.3 compared to 2.6.2 . Has it not improved matters for you at all?

Hi AndrewT,

2.6.3. works until about 25-50 years in. Once the desyncs start in federations they progress worse and worse and occur more and more often, sometimes every 5 minutes of gameplay and at best every 10-20minutes. Prior to Federations the desyncs were still very bad didnt make the game 100% unplayble until mid game or later on in the mid game. There are numerous posts, reddit's etc of people experiencing this for well over a year now and im wondering are the devs and internal testers playing desync free or on some internal server? I see matches in the lobby - are people actually playing with NO drops/desyncs? Myself i'm playing no mods, fast computers, beta-opt-in, all expansions etc. Would purchasing a VPN help? Is there a way to direct connect and would that help?

i play mp (that's actually what got me into the game in the first place) both on console and pc [i own all dlc currently available on both systems]

i also play other games, many of which are broken in their own right
ex; League of Legends [client is derped up and running on spaghetti code, many champions are either stupidly over-powered or nerfed into the ground useless, ranked match-making is a joke of a system...just to name the top problems, and no. most of those go unnoticed by the devs for far too long], Monster Hunter World [server instability/connection issues], Dark Souls [hackers]
