Only by tinkering with the save game files, and as the names appear so often in each file, I wouldn't fancy trying to do it.
It can very easily be done in the text.csv file in teh config folder. Open it with wordpad, find the names and tags and change them. From now on that name will be used till u change it again.

Now I was going to answer ths fellow's question but at a price. Like, to change the names there has to be a country named "SAVANT" with the tag "SAV". Yet another opportinity for fame shot to hell!

Should use that knowledge to create more tags for the IGC, that'd really make u famous
