That was one of my most favourite parts of Master of Orion II! (I'm a bit sick aren't I...)

As Johan says, crush your enemies, drive them before you, and hear the lamentations of their women.
But I want one thing more, I want to have live specimens working for me!

For example in MOO2, if you conquered planets with Silicoid populations, then you didn't have to provide them food, because they were crystal-type aliens that lived off minerals only so you could have these slaves working on harsh environments, it was so interesting to manage alien populations.

And it was so satisfying after beating them in a huge war, to have their populations working for you with little chains around their legs, it was the ultimate satisfaction for my megalomaniacal ambitions! To rule over them with them as my slaves on hostile environment. Work health and safety be damned!!! Get back in the mines.

I heard that you guys were fans of Master of Orion. So you should have that feature I hope.
Honestly I don't think there's been a game to take the crown from MOO2 and no space empires game that I've really liked since that game.

I'm hoping that Stellaris will be the one to finally after all these years, to raise the bar and take the crown but you need things like this. NO PRESSURE :D

If you're a little bit sick, you've come to the right place. Not only can you enslave other races, you can experiment on them, genetically modify them, and who knows what else?

Is that info from Paradox? I didn't hear about that. If that's true then I'm speechless... ... no I'm not tearing up there's just some dust in here or something!

Yes! This sounds very exciting. My problem with many space games I've played is that once you conquer a planet, all the inhabitants change to your species. This game starts to sound better and better!

  • In the galaxy of Stellaris we not only meet starfaring races, but also those which may be scientifically advanced but can't reach into space yet (Poland for example). How we deal with these neutral planets depends on the properties of our people. Pacifists can watch them from hiding to collect research points. More radical scientists can abduct people and subject them to studies; warlike races just conquer the planet. And of course we can give the residents the spaceflight technology to include them as a member of the galactic community. Or add them in our own federation, of course completely altruistic.
  • Apart from such advanced races some planets are also inhabited by races that have not yet developed self awareness. As a ruthless ruler we can intervene in the evolution of these aliens to tailor us a slave race of our own design. If our own people have problems with surviving on a desert planet - no problem then we simply tinker our own Fremen (Dune, of course). And if we have weak troops we just breed us a race of willing soldiers - the Jem'Hadar from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine send greetings.
Taken from Gamestar. Have a look at https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/what-we-know-so-far.875779/ for more infos

Gosh, where is the Star Control 2 love?

I'm going to genetically engineer everyone into amorphous blobs for no reason.

What if all the aliens combine into one super-massive Blob that consumes planets whole?

Get them dependent on a chemical called ketracel white and then withdraw the supply, obviously.

We're going to have a nice whipping sound effect too when you click on that "enslave" button!

You think you could get the rights for this song as sound effect ?

Will we be able to enslave races on certain planets and on other planets they are free? Or will the enslave button make all of that race galaxy wide on your planets slaves? In other words. Can we have a slave planet where all pop except yours are slaves and then in your home solar system all races are free men?

I don't recall enslaving races in MoO2, you just integrated them into your population. Those two things are no synonymous. Now MoO3 did have slavery, if I recall correctly.
