Tutorial building

Victor, you have to wait until the appropriate stage in the tutorial. I don't think it lets you build cavalry until it lets you build artillery also. And naval exploration is its own topic, as I recall.

So simply follow the commands, and it tells you when you can build those items.

I am playing the tutorial and am not allowed to build cavalry or warships in any province. I am allowed to build Infantry, Artillery and Transport ships. What must I do to build these military unit types?

The tutorial isnt as (lets say) "complete" as the actual game. In fact it is not a good advert for it! I have had friends put the game aside after getting frustrated with it (the tutorial) thinking that the game itself wouldnt be any better....They know better now!

Might I suggest that once you know how to move units etc that you abandon the tutorial.

Start by playing Russia in the GC - this will give you an easy start and introduce you to the many delights of the game. Do not expect to win the first time...... treat it as a tutorial.

Might I also suggest that you go to Menu/Option/Message Settings from the main game screen. There you may set how the game will inform you about various events.

Dont be afraid to ask questions in the appropriate forum... we all had to start fresh.

I agree with uglyduck, starting with a GC as Russia is a very good way to learn how to play. Wish I had done that when I started out, would have saved me some time :)

What are u mumbling about ? :D It was great! It was the first and last challenging game I ever had with a major. Which is a bit sad really  Won it in the end though but it costs me quite some effort! I made a lot of newbie mistakes, just about all my knowledge about the game stems from that game.

Russia was good (would even be better in the IGC, IMHO) and that's what I did after giving up on the tutorial. Other alternatives would be either Turkey (won't die of bordom there ;)) or England...

Cheers!
