Cannot launch the game (Win10 - Steam) - "Launching the game failed."

I feel like i have tried every suggestion i have seen in other threads but i still can't launch the game


Here is what i have tried so far:

Reinstalling multiple times, even on a different drive. (removed all ck3 folders between reinstalls)

Tried launching in Windowed-mode

Did all my Windows updates and driver updates.

Added an exception in Windows antivirus for ck3 folder and .exe

Tried enabling "Run this program as an administrator" and "Disable full-screen optimisations" for ck3.exe in compatibility options


I still get the error every time.

I have attached DxDiag and a crash report folder.


Appreciate any help, i really don't want to refund.

Please unplug the game pad and see if the game starts then.

If not still, any other unusual USB devices you might have.

After removing these usb-devices and rebooting my pc i can now launch the game directly from "ck3.exe"!

I still cant launch the game with the launcher.

What if you set ck3.exe to run as the WIndows Admin user permanently? Any different?

Already have that set.

Okay then, what if you set these to run as Admin also?

Okay then, what if you set these to run as Admin also?

This worked!

I can now launch the game from the launcher.
