We have a problem that has suddenly started with being unable to load saved games. The loadup screen will hang at the 'reading scenerio' part of the startup bar. We have let it sit for a half hour, waiting patiently. We have the save files if anyone can take a look. It is frustrating for us as we are trying to arrange a weekly LAN session with 6 people, but we obviously can't play the entire game at one sitting. Well I can, but the others go to work. Anyone else experience this problem. It is a clean install of EU with the 1.08 patch and no other scenerios or downloads, such as IGC, added in.

This is almost the same problem I have. Same thing happens to me when I try to load games. Only diffrence is I'm hardly able to try to load because game usualy crashes when I try to save it!
I run into the exact same problem. Here is what happened right before it started happening:
I was playing a scenario that I would pause, Alt-Tab out of the game, work for a while, then go back into the game. If I ever Alt-Tab'd out of the game for a long period of time without pausing it, the screen would just be black when I went back in and I'd have to kill the process to get out of it. With the yearly autosave, this was never a big deal.
This particular game was up for a good two days that I swear I had paused when I Alt-Tab'd out of it. When I went back in I got the blank screen problem. I killed the EU process like I usually do, but then when I tried to load the autosave game, it just hung on the Loading Scenario message. Now I can't load any scenarios.

disabeling the autosave feature works on some machines. the crashing on loading/saving is a known issue and the designers are hard at work on a fix
