Can't change screen resolution

When I run the configuration program I can change it to 1280x1024, but when I start the game it always runs in 1024x768. I have a flatscreen monitor so it look really bad.

System specs:

Game Version & Patch:Victoria, 1.4

OS & build/SP:Vista 64 SP1

Computer, CPU & speed: Intel i7 2.66 Ghz

RAM: 6GB

Free HDD space:678 GB

Video (brand, model, driver, memory): Asus NVidia 8800GT, 512MB ram

Sound (brand, model, driver): Diamond something or other

DirectX Version:9.0c, 10

Do you have the game installed in Program Files? The configuration program may not be able to update the settings file. I recommend not installing games in Program Files on Windows 7 or Vista.

OK, I changed the install directory and it worked.

Another problem: I want to roll it back to version 1.3. But when I do a clean install and run the 1.3 patch it says "you already have a newer version" even though I haven't patched it yet.

I assume there some registry value that says "1.4" but I can't find it. Anyone know where it is?

I do not seem to have the "[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Strategy First\Victoria]" entry

Ok I found it. It was buried deep in the "local machine" part of the registry. Weird.
