Hi there folks!

I have the latest HOI2 patch 1.1, and i have a 56k connection. Each time in try to create or join a game nothing happens. I click on the "join" or "host" button and they simply move down and nothing else happens. The game doesnt crash or freeze. How could i fix this?

First thing to do is read the sticky threads and notice that all MP related stuff goes in the MP forum. ;)

Well, I've got some bad news for you Gui.

You can't play the game.

You may be able to load into a game, you may be able to solve those connection problems, but you just won't be able to have a stable game. It will lag, you will be at a severe disadvantage to the point of you being the proverbial one-legged man at an ass-kicking contest. It will crash, and your teammates will resent you for it.

I started to play a series in Vicky with a modem guy. It was bad then. With a newer, more complex game like HoI2, it just won't work.

I didn't mean to sound rude by the previous comments, I do know that you're a newcomer. Welcome to the game!

In my opinion, MP is the heart of the game. I enjoy outsmarting and outmanuevering opponents seeing novel strategies tried out against me. Even fighting a losing campaign is fun against an intelligent opponent.

That being said, there is definitely something to the single player game. A lot of the players here will swear by it, and there are some good mods that have been and will continue to be released for it. You will just have to make the most of your gaming experience within that realm until you get a high-speed connection. If that takes years, I think you just might continue to play SP on until then. It's a damn good game.

A good starting point for you to make the most out of your SP experiences is the Wiki. Go to hoi2.nsen.ch

It contains guides, references, and links for the newcomer. It can even get you started on developing your own modifications to the game, to strengthen the computer against you and improve the atmosphere of it to your tastes.

Make a note of the links to the Historical Stony Road mod, the Total Realism Project, and the CORE mod. These are the homes of the premier mod development teams in our community.

Again, I'm sorry for your predicament, but welcome to the community!

Thx for the answers. I used to have turbo cable connection, but I movend from house 3 months ago and there is no cable or high-speed service in this area...:(... i used to play all kind on mp game..and yes mp are the heart of game!! Guess ill try to pass all the sp missions :)
