I'm missing something here. I'm playing as a count in France. I have a claim on a county, ruled by another count. I can't seem to find where it shows the crown authority for my liege, but it shouldn't matter because I modified my vassal contract to allow war declaration. For some reason, I still can't declare war to press my claim, it says I don't have a casus belli. The only war I can declare is independence from the duke. I don't see what could possibly be preventing me from doing this. My first thought is maybe a lifestyle trait? Was that changed?

Nevermind, I think I see the problem now. Found where it shows the Duchy crown authority, and under crown authority 3, I need to use a hook on my liege to declare war on another vassal. I suppose war declaration in my contract doesn't cover that?

I think the War Declaration part of the contract means you can declare wars outside the realm you're a part of even if the crown authority of your liege would normally prevent that.

I just a few days ago used a vassal contract with war declaration allowed to declare war on another vassal of my liege (HRE) with crown authority 3, no hook required. So I am not sure what's going on here.

lol, it was a mod. More Game Rules, to be exact. I had a feeling it might be, but I just didn't want to believe it because I needed the mod for the reduced seduction options that I hate.
