When does it tell you the file is corrupt?
I am guessing it is when you go to unzip it?
What operating system do you use?
Did you manage to install one of the earlier betas?

Ok going to have to admit to be completely dense when it comes to PCs

I'm completely dense when It comes to PCs.

There, done it.

Right I'm using Windows XP.

Installed clean version of EUII. The downloaded 1.07 which I do by clicking on the link and choosing open right?

Then I click on the beta link on the general board. Do I save that or do I open it again? If save where do I save it?

If I am doing this all wrong please tell me as I am perfectly aware that how this machine works is a complete mystery to me and I wont be offended.

DO NOT click on open!

Right-click and select Save-AS
Then save a copy to your HD.
Then run the patch.

For the beta.
Rightclick Save-as
Then save a copy on your HD
then rightclick on that program and select extract.
When prompted for the path to extract it to browse for the directory that you installed EU2 in.
click ok then when prompted if you want to overwrite the files select yes for all.

Great!
Glad it worked out for you.
