Can't even start the game

I have installed the game and the latest patch 1.01 and the game crashes when I start it. It tries to initialize the sound and then it crashes to the desktop. ** AMD Athlon processor ** Windows XP ** Direct X 8.0 ** VIA soundcard built in to the motherboard ** ATI RAGE graphics card All my other games work perfectly, including EU and EU2... Anyone with some input????

Try renaming your AVI folder to AVIbak, you will miss the intro videos but the game may go.
