Yeah my friend has this too. He can't access MP even if he is logged in LAUNCHER, the option to login in the game is not there anymore.
Okey we sort it out, you need to switch to older version and there in the menu left-upper corn is the login button to write your username, then you download back the current version and here you go, you can play.
my Friends still have this error we tried to go back to an older Version but they did not find this Login button to write their username could you please describe more detailed how we can solve this error
1. Revert to 1.3.2 via the Steam "Betas" option (or your platform equivalent)
2. Launch the game and make sure that the affected account is logged in
3. Click on the "Social Profile" button
4. Set a username and click "Create Profile"
5. Exit game
6. Remove the 1.3.2 beta and get back to 1.4
7. Account should now be able to access multiplayer
I did everything according to your instructions, but when I click "Create Profile" an error occurs "error j_pops_profile_error_"

That message comes when you try to post links when you have fewer than 5 posts, it's an anti spam measure.
But it does not stop you adding screenshots here as image files.

In any case, regarding the problem, after authorization in the game, I get this window, and when I try to set a nickname, I get this error
Please do a full **clean** re-install:
- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "uninstall" in Steam-Imperator
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Imperator AND Documents/Paradox/Imperator folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add imperator.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test
In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Imperator or Documents Imperator locations, before installing again.
I hope that does it!
