cant install 1.05b

hi there.

ive decided to install 1.0b after the 13.12.41 bug killed my very promising new game as germany

ive unzipped everything into the right directory but the game ALWAYS locks up at the start screen (initializing globals). it loads for a whiile and then just does nothing - forcing me to alt-tab and closing the task.

did i do something wrong? help would be much appreciated because at the moment i simply cant play the game. either face the redicilous 13.12. bug in 1.05 (worst bug in a new patch ive ever seen) or dont get into the game at all 1.05b.

What opersting system are you on?
When you unzipped the files to the EU2 folder, did you select to maintain the directory structure, and did you select to overwrite all files?

I have also had a problem loading 1.05b (after 13/12/1941) should it work with the UK version or is it NA only?

Well I will answer my own question. I did a clean reinstall of HOI applied 1.05 and then 1.05b and this time it worked so looks as though it is good for the UK version as well. It also ran my save on past 13/12/41 so that was OK too (except I did not like the way it was panning out so will start again anyway).

Yup the B patch should work with all.
Always recommended to do a fresh instal before patching.

i fixed it too. aparently the new panzer.txt
caused the error. after alt tabbing i saw the error window. i even got into the game after ignoring them. i now use the panzer.txt that came with 1.05b and everything runs fine
