Can't Install on Windows NT

I am trying to install on windows NT. Whether logged in as the administrator or as another user, I always get the message "string NOT_INSTALLED was not found in string Table". Then I get a message Not Installed, and all game files are deleted from the hard drive.

EU requires a level of Direct X which is not available in NT, even the underground hacked ones like DX5 libraries that seem to mostly work. Unless there are newer hacks I don't know about, which could be the case as I've not used NT for over a year now at home or work and have lost touch with the scene.

Thanks Keith, but according to the spec's, EU is supposed to run on NT with a minimum of service pack 4 (I have 6). Anyone else have any ideas?

Hmmm. Then I have the EU install confused with another recent install, I guess. Guess I don't know why it won't run for you. Good luck.

Problem Solved!!!

Well, after I posted this problem, I went through the questions/answers in this site, and after some trial error, got it to work. I think Behomoth is a genius for coming up with the answer! The procedure I followed, based on his reply was:

1. Install to the point of the message "not_installed..
2. Use the task manager to get out
3. Install the 1.08 UK patch
4. Install the 1.08 DE patch to a different directory
5. Copy the europa.exe file from the tempory directory created above to the original game directory
6. It works!!
