Just got the new EU II but cannot install on my computer with Windows XP. It installs to a certain point [36%, 49%, 82%] and then it says "An I/O error has occurred while installing a file. This is normally caused by bad installation media or a corrupt installation file. Abort/Retry". It won't go any further under retry so I have to abort. I have tried to move the disk around in the drive and tried to install a number of times but it continues to happen. This is actually the second disk I have used. The first time the store simply gave me another one but when I had problems with this second one, I took my laptop and removed everything to gain enough space for installation to try and see what would would happen under Windows 98. It installed! [I need the laptop for work so I uninstalled.] I presume my problem is with XP then. I have an Intel Celeron 434 mz, 256 mb ram, Xpert 128 Video card and 49 GB of hard drive space left and I disabled Norton Antivirus 2002 in case that was a problem Any ideas?
[Personally I think its a plot to keep me from whipping butt as I did under EU I :D ]

you need to be logged on as an administrator under XP to be able to install XP. Make sure it's your case.

Also, I would need your CD-ROM brand&model number.

Finally got it

When you asked about the cd drive info I thought I would try to use my cd burner drive to install instead and it worked. I finally got things working although I seem to have a problem with the blink video stuff. I will post my config in that thread. Thanks for the help. :)
