Can't play on Mac

I've played CK2 with the Game of Thrones mod before, but it's been quite a while, probably not long after Jade Dragon came out. Yesterday I tried starting a new game, for the first time since Holy Fury, and the game won't start. During the initial loading, when it gets to "painting", it crashes. Every single time. I can't get past "painting". I tried multiple times and it just wouldn't do it.

Any help? Has anyone else had this problem and found a way to resolve it?

I've had that problem before as well on other versions. Only way I could fix it was to uninstall and re-install CK2 itself and re-download the mod. There might be another way now though, as that was around Horselords or Conclave

Fresh install almost always fixes, deleting mod then verifying game files and then reinstalling the mod also works slightly less frequently
