Can't run C.O.R.E

Hi,
I've a problem running C.O.R.E.
After I install it, I am no more able to run HOI. I click the .exe file and it don't do nothing. I tried to install C.O.R.E. on both patched and unpatched version, and it always do the same.
What's wrong?

Which version of HOI do you have? (ie North American from Strategy First, UK from Koch, etc)

Which version of C.O.R.E. are you trying to install? (ie which language)

Have you got any other mods installed? (ie Stony Road etc)

Please try to uninstall HOI completely, then delete the Hearts of Iron directory manually. Install HOI again, apply the 1.03b or 1.04 patch. Try starting the game to make sure it is working ok. Then install C.O.R.E. following these instructions:

After downloading the file, you need to install this campaign in your Hearts of Iron directory.
(usually C:\Paradox Entertainmnent\Hearts of Iron\ )

This MOD will modify this standard game files: almost all the files of the AI, the "revolt.txt", the "province.csv", "models.csv", the leaders files of Australia, England and USSR and the "RandomLeaders.csv" file.

Because of this, when the mod is installing it will ask you if he can overwrite those files, select "YES TO ALL".

IMPORTANT: When you finish installing it, you need to do a little change to the "text.csv" file. Search for "U01", you will find something like this: "U01; ;..." or "U01;user defined; ;..." , you need to insert just after the first semi-colon "Italian Socialist Republic" , so this will be the result: "U01;Italian Socialist Republic;...".
This must be done by you, because this file is modified by every distributor (Friendware, Koch, etc...) so the files varies from version to version.
Not modifying this, will mean that, instead of seeing in the map "Italian Socialist Republic", you will see "user defined", nothing more, so it is not critical, but it is necesary.

Hmm, I don't have access to that version of HOI (only UK and NA for me). Hopefully one of our other team members can assist you (I have dropped a pm to the Italian translator), in the meantime can you tell us what patch level you are using and if you are using the default path for installation, ie "C:\Program Files\[distro]\Hearts of Iron\", and if not try to install using that.

Can you also please post the last 8-10 lines from the file install.log in your HOI directory?

Try renaming avi folder to aviback as well, I don't think it will fix it but worth a try.

have you edited the "text.csv" like it says in the instructions?
because when i edit it in a "wrong" way, that is what i get...
if you have always edited "text.csv" and got that error, send me the file (compressed) and i will edit it for you and send it back!

Hi all,
sorry for the delay!
I think trhata about the .csv file is a good bet, so I'm senting it to
Generalissimo. Thank-you
For Steel now: I use the last (1.04) patch, italian language, and I'm using the default path.
I can't find the intall.log file, could you be more specific about its location?

Ok, there was an issue with some pop-up dialog box being in the background... Try this:

Try task-switching (alt-tab), there's likely a "Database Mismatch - Abort / Retry / Ignore" dialogue hidden behind the main HOI window. When it happened to me I chose Ignore 8 times and then the game continued

This is fixed in v0.2 that has now been released. Apologies for the terrible first impression you must have of C.O.R.E. - it really does run quite well normally!!!
