I just purchased and downloaded the game today. I can set up a new game. When I get to the final screen summary and click continue the game shows the starting game screen but the circle thing in the bottom left corner never moves. I waited 15 minutes with no indication anything was happening. BTW: you can thank Colonel Failure for the sale (youtube) I forgot to use his code. Can you please make sure he gets credit. code: creator code colonelfailure. Thanks.

Update graphics driver, I've had better success since I did that. Also seems to work better when I use GPU Tweak II to set game mode for best performance instead of best graphics. Still not 100%, but more likely to start a new game if do these things. Also be aware that as they update or hot fix the game you may see the same issue trying to load old saves. Best to just start over if old save won't load after a few tries. It is early release so I think it currently is a resource hog and possible memory leaks which is why shutting down background programmes and fresh boots helps.

I just upgraded my system last night so I already have the latest graphics driver.

I got it to work at one point. I don't remember how as I kept trying to get it better. When I did get it to start a new game the resolution was all wrong and the game was unplayable. I am on Kubuntu 19.10 and using Lutris to play windows games on Linux. For those that don't know Kubuntu is just a flavor of Ubuntu. Kubuntu uses the KDE desktop instead of vanilla Ubuntu's GNOME desktop. It's probably a graphics compatibility issue. Are there any Linux gamers on this forum that might be willing to help?

If you are on Windows 10 then check the "Controlled folder access settings" under "Ransomware protection" which you can find in the "Virus & threat protection" settings. In my case the access to Documents was blocked which prevented the Paradox Launcher from starting.

Making a Windows suggestion does me no good as I said in post #7, I am using Linux. Is there a lutris or playonlinux gamer that got it to work. Ancestors seems to work so I don't know why Surviving The Aftermath won't. I think it's not getting the proper resolution information. I use 1600 X 1200 for my desktop and almost every game I have works at that resolution. Since the game uses the Surviving Mars engine then why doesn't it work?

I had to connect the Paradox Launcher to Epic Games Launcher before the start screen would progress.

No, I take that back. The game has started with everyone named "#John #Adult" with the same icon and stats. I'm in some admin panel and can't press "Back" to get to the game.

Third time lucky. It looks like you need to have Epic and Paradox linked before you start the application.

At least I can tell you you're not alone. You seem to have exactly the same issue as me.
I got it from Epic GS, but Epic games usually don't work.
It's been a long time now (but I'm not the one doing necrology here ^^), did you eventually manage to get it to work?

You mean one has to use the horrible official launcher from Epic?
I usually play with Heroic.
I used to have a working official launcher at some point -as unstable and unpleasant as it was- but it's been a long time that this launcher doesn't start any more. Fixing that would be an extra challenge to start with.
