Can't uninstall or install

Well this is great I uninstalled the damn game and reinstalled adding 1.1 and 1.2 then can't find the paradox folder. I am now given the options to uninstall, or play or exit. if I uninstall either in the control panel or through the cd NOTHING happens. It says finished but still thinks its there. If i try and play nothing happens. This is very annoying.
