Whenever I hit "F12" in the game, a little box is supposed to appear, but when I hit F12 nothing happens. Can anyone explain this?

I an useing version 1.0.
 
Upgrade to 1.2.
 
I just tried to install V 1.2 and my comp. couldn't read some file so the whole game can't load now.
 
Hmm, Where did you say you bought the game?
What three logos are on the CD?
