Castile/Spain name change corrupts save

Has anyone encountered this ?

I've been playing a GC with Castile and everything works fine until I claim the name of Spain. After I save after that event and try to reload in the game I get a CTD. If I exit the game and start up again I can't even get the option to load the game at all. The 'start' button is greyed out.

The same happened during a GC as Muscowy after I became Russia.

Anyone know what could be the problem ?

I'm using the 1.05 patch and this happens both without the EEP and with it (the Castile GC was before I installed EEP, the Muscowy one after).

I have seen it and it is a known bug. I will look up in the bug list to see if there was a fix (that I can't remember )

It is a problem indeed, until fixed you can just mark the shields at the top and scroll down to 'Spain', or 'Russia' as case might be, and select them, and then 'start' shoulc be clickable.

The problem, I believe, is that the game thinks you are playing as 'Castile' or 'Muscowy' and since said nations don't exist you can't start/load the game as them.
