In the Byzantine Empire, traditionally the Castrated where almost common enough in the imperial courts to be considerd a third sex.
Just out of curiosity, how will this little oddity be handeled?
As I guessed, not at all?

Yes, it could be added as an option for captured nobles;)

Aww... I share their pain...:D ;)

Why would it need to be? Unless the member of a ruling family gets castrated...
In the Byzantine court it is an issue. Eunuchs could not become emperors. That is (prpbably) one of the reasons why John the Orphanotrophus never became emperor, but instead managed to get crowned his brother Michael.

As for the castration of captured nobles that webbrave mentions I don't think that was ever used. Eunuchs were castrated while boys. An easier method (and one that was actually used quite frequent) was to put out their eyes - a treatment the aforementioned Michael received...

Lowering of the birth rate? ;)

Basil II Bulgarsomething, right?
Blinded around 15,000 Bulgars.
Blinding and castration should be implemented.
Somehow, somewhere.

Yes, but in this case anyone castrated would simply be removed from the game, since they could never become a ruler (just like blinding or, in Russia, being forced to become a monk). Unless non-ruling family members have some use...

They couldn't become Emperor, but might AFAIK hold just about any other office in the Empire (i.e. they could probably be a vassal).
