CB , oh CB ..where art thou CB?

I lost my CB against Poland-Lithuania. I am playing Russia , and it's about 1715. I have reduced P-L to just its' capital province.I am guessing that since P-L is not a 'threat' to the Russian Bear that it has been dropped.

Of course I noticed this only after I declared war on P-L so I can get its ally Hungay into the battle so I can beat up on them (which incidently I completely took over in 2 years, and annexed them)

U prolly already conquered all the home provinces PLC was occupying so the CB u got for that in the first place isn't valid anymore.

I wish I had known that one. It makes targeting a 'rump' state witha DoW more expensive.
I took my 'one' province which Austria held and lost my CB.. and to get any more real estate
i need to spend a whopping -2 more in stability. I think it makes sense. But does the AI even care
.. it seems to DoW without considering cost. many times i have seen (example) poland drive itself to instability -3
with a DoW on a bad boy.... Doesn't look like the AI cares about DoW cost!!

bib, you are right, If all that is left of Poland is its capital, then he will no longer have a CB as his homeland provinces as shown by the 'shields' on the political map are no longer owned by the Poles.

Especially silly then is when they accept a white peace in the space of 2 days. Which just about tuined their country for a few years.

Luckily that oughta be fixed in 1.08 though.

Russia only begins with a CB against Poland-Lithuania, because Poland has many provinces that are considered 'core' provinces by Russia. Once you've taken these provinces, then Russia no longer has that permanent CB.

Aren't the CB provinces listed in the saved game file under your country as national provinces? This would give u an idea of what provinces you need to save in your conquest until later and still keep the CB.

i think you can also tell which are the CB causing provinces by clicking on the political map, they'll have your shield on them i think
heh playing as France, I purposely did not take Calais and instead took a series of British Isle provinces in several wars, so that I will always have my CB against England so that I can beat them down whenever they get uppity

There is no way of checking which core provinces (CB shields) other countries have from within the game, is it?

You can always load a game with that other country to have a look. IF they have a permanent CB against u, there's quite a big chance u have some of their core provinces

Yes you can. Turn on the political display in the map - all the provinces with your shield on are your core provinces and provide you a CB if anyone else has them.
