I had this game way back in the day, and I just bought it again, but there is no CD key to register here. How do I obtain it?

If you look at the games listed under MyGames here, you'll see there's no CK1. That's because it's too old to use that system, which started with EU3. While I never had this game I would assume it has a copy-protected installer and CD, like EU2 did.

But "Deus Vult" is there, which is the expansion bundled under the complete version of the game I purchased. How would I get that?

Keys always come from where you bought the game. If Steam it should show in "View CD Key' in the library, after you've run the game once.

And that's the problem, actually. There isn't one. I had a physical copy of the game almost seven years ago, and no longer have it. If I wanted to get the icon under my name (which is the whole point), who would I have to talk to?

Steam sells only Crusader Kings Complete and gives no key for that. Maybe someone from Paradox can solve it as usual, allowing the steam key?! They did that for Cities in Motion 1 and Sword of the Stars Complete.
