I guess it is because I made the mistake to wash it with alcohol, anyway my CD drive does not read it anymore and I am unable to reinstall the game.
I wonder, considering this is a very old game, are there any freeware sites where I can download it ?

You can hardly ask us how to get a pirated copy of our own software. But you can buy it from Gamers Gate as a download for only $10.

Just out of curiosity, why exactly should he pay again for something he already owns? o_O
I don't see how it can be considered pirating since you already legally bought the software, which entitles you to have as many copies of it as you like.

This is why I always burn copies of my game cds. If the original screws up I have another for backup.

Because he broke it. If you buy a music CD from the store and break it, will they give you a new one for free? No. If you buy a TV and break it, will they give you a new one for free? No.

can't compare a tv to a software.

You download a game from gamersgate. You break the game, say delete a file. Can you still download the game? Yes. Is it considered pirating? NO
Or you buy windows xp from the store. You break the cd, You can still download the software from the internet and use your cd key to install it. Is it pirating? No.

Anyways, good luck getting the game.
