Does anyone know if this trait has any hardcoded properties? I believe the AI tends not to marry its "celibate" tagged characters but I have not played the game that much (due to somewhat frequent CTDs), so I would really appreciate if anyone could bring me either official or at least empirical information about that.

Thanks.

The celibate trait is supposed to give -50 to fertility, but because fertility modifiers don't work, celibate characters can still reproduce. I never noticed the AI not marry it's celibate dynasts, though.

They don't work?
Not sure. In my games, celibate characters get children very seldom.

Yes, but they shouldn't be getting children at all. -50 fertility means that the character has a fertility lower then 0 which should lead to zero children

They work, but the problem is it takes both parents fertility modified and i think it doesn't count anything below 0...

this is my hypothesis without actually seeing the code based on some stuff Byak mentioned.

It's still better than the past where it had absolutely no impact except for events.

... or an event to remove the so-called "celibate" (isn't that word supposed to mean unmarried, as it does in French?) trait if the character gets married. I'll probably do that.
