Change to English language

I bought a localized (Italian) version of HoI2.

I remember that, with HoI I had the choice to either use a localized patch or to download the English one and, in this way, to switch back to English (my choice, given that the Italian translation is not to my taste)

Now, I installed patch 1.2 to Hoi2 but it (unfortunately) does not affect the language.

Is there any way to change it back to English (without buying a new game, that is)?

I don't know if the Italian version comes with English language files, but if so, you have to open 'settings.cfg' in your HoI2 folder and change the first number to 0.

As far as I tried, there are 5 language possibilities once HOI2 is installed (probably more but I couldn't be bothered to test the rest ). I know for sure that English = 0; French = 1; German = 4; and I think Italian is number 3.

EDIT: After check, there are six languages available:
0 = English
1 = French
2 = Italian
3 = Spanish
4 = German
5 = Polish
