A few things about the greek revolters:

Dutchy of Athens should be catholic, and really probably shouldn't be availible to revolt unless someone grants it independence, like Kingdom of Jerusalem. Since it was essentially a catholic government arbitrarilly set up there, there isn't much reason to have the people of greece itself revolt and form it, I don't think.

To have a greek revolter for prior to 1551, I added in a BYZ revolter in Morea to represent the Despotate.

I like the Byantine idea, but how about making the switch over date correspond either to the death of one of the imperial line (eg Andreas I in 1502 or Andreas II in 1519) or the date when the title was sold, if anyone here knows it. Maybe Thrace should also be in the extra provinces, and even the default capital so that if everyone revolts they get their true capital back. It will need to have the lines culture = greek and religion = orthodox.

All of which leads on to the thought of what circumstances Trebizond could revolt. No TUR and before 1460?

I'm a bit dubious over the inclusion of the HRE bishoprics as long-term revolters, especially the northern ones. The bishops had little real temporal power after the Reformation, and both Magdeburg and Bremen basically ceased to exist as true bishoprics after that point as well. After the Reformation, these two (and the other, non-game, northern bishoprics) weren't even controlled by bishops any more, but by members of nearby princely families - Brandenburg in Magdeburg's case, Denmark and Braunschweig in Bremen's case. The northen bishoprics were eventually simply absorbed into nearby states, and since the populations were Protestant, there was little likelihood of them returning as independent states. Maybe giving the bishoprics an enddate of 1648, with the exception maybe of Cologne and Mainz, the electoral archbisoprics...

I was thinking of these revolters appearing as being more a case of Generic German Microstate growing large enough to dominate the province.

The timing for Byzantium was just arbitrary, I used what was already present for Duchy of Athens. Not sure about the justification there. 1562 might be a better date. Also, Greece maybe should get a no = BYZ.

I tried putting the Byzantines in with Thrace in the minimum and as the capital, the problem, though, is that it makes it impossible for the ottomans to liberate them as a vassal without having the ottoman capital skip around. I'm also not sure how this would work if it actually revolted and the capital was controlled by rebels. I've had spain revolt as granada and kick my capital into north africa,(way back in 1.0, they might have made that not possible since then) so it could be a problem. Putting them in Morea and having the rest as extras is a good compromise.

The North American natives (Huron, Iroquois, etc.) are in as revolters until 1750. This can produce very odd results, since when they revolt they keep the tech levels of whoever they revolted from. I once saw an Iroquois revolter dominate the English colonies.
