changing keys

I recently acquired a laptop, and Europa Universalis was one of the first things I installed. The game runs properly, but with one difficulty - the hotkey for changing the speed at which time elapses doesn't seem to work (there is no + key on my laptop, except for one that requires you to press shift).
Is there some way to change the hotkeys in EUII, so that I can conveniently play at a reasonable speed?

Depending on your laptop, there may be a key that turns part of your normal keypad into the equivelent of a keypad, that would also give you the + and -.

You can adjust speed ingame useing the options screen as well.

Also did you try Ctrl and +/- ?
