In this case I wanted to learn how to do this, so I gave Kent to King William and made Odo a courtier in England.

I edited the following four files:

1066_scenario.eug
1066_scenario_characters.txt
1066_scenario_countries.txt
1066_scenario_titles.txt

Now when I start the scenario, the King owns Kent, Kent shows up as his in the scenario list but I can't allocate it to anyone, it just stays blank on the map and at the start of the scenario I see this:

oalhhaabf.jpg

I have attached my files if anyone is brave enough to help. :(

http://www.dump.ro/download.php?id=23213&act=9n44ld0tBNgHx6z7

(.rar format 158kb)

King William's ID is 140
Odo's is 148
Kent is C073

I followed the advice in this thread: http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?t=160364

There were some mistakes in the files

In 1066_characters, you still had some characters in C073, they were 'dead' character, but I move them to the England court

In 1066_countries, you have two entries for C073, one under England and one as a seperate county. The separate one shouldn't be there

The fixed files can be found here

I haven't tested the scenario, but I think all problems should now be fixed. If it isn't just post it here and I will take a 2nd look :)

Awesome! Yes it works just fine now ..

It would load with the two entries for C073, but with only one it would CTD (fatal exception) when initializing the script. I hadn't pruned any additional courtiers, just Odo. Would that cause the CTD?

All sorted now, I'm pretty confident. Many thanks Veld!

Having characters in a court that doesn't exist will lead to CTD's
