Is there a reason why I cant change the year manually at game start? The buttons to change them are greyed out for some reason.

Just a guess, since I haven't really tried this myself --- but could it be that CK2plus simply doesn't have the required history between snapshots? Since the mod changes the map the developers would've had to rewrite lots of history files to account for the new and changed titles.
