hello,is it possible to change look of characters somehow?for individual characters either via savegame or file modding, gfx, cultures?
or at least change the culture look for characters?what files do i have to change?
i have made new nation that is sarmatian/scythian culture but their appearence looks germanic and i want to make them look more persian.

i would appreciate any help

In the common\countries folder, find the file for your country. Change the entry for graphical_culture to persiangfx. That should do it, and IIRC should be savegame compatible too.

thanks,tried that,faces still look germanic.
it isnt possible for individual characters to define how they look?for certain historical personalities etc?

The graphical_culture in the countries folder only controls the appearance of units on the map, not portraits. Go to your cultures.txt, find your culture, and set its graphical_culture to persiangfx . If your characters still look Germanic after this, it'll be because they're particularly Germanic-looking Sarmatians/Scythians.

To give a character a specific appearances, you need to open the character's .txt file in the history\characters folder and add the following:

dna = "xxxxxxxxx"

Where xxxxxxxxx is a nine-character sequence of lower-case letters. Each letter defines a single feature of the character's portrait:
- First Letter = Chin
- Second Letter = Neck and Clothing
- Third Letter = Ears
- Fourth Letter = Left Cheek
- Fifth Letter = Eyes
- Sixth Letter = Nose
- Seventh Letter = Right Cheek
- Eighth Letter = Hair
- Ninth Letter = Mouth

They also control some additional portrait features for Germanic and Persian portraits, but I haven't figured out the exact relationships, except that the ninth letter determines the beard for male Germanic characters.

Characters who have .txt files but no DNA sequence will have a DNA sequence randomly generated each time you start Rome. If their parents have DNA sequences, however, the character's DNA will be based on them.

What Galle said will probably solve this problem as well but the culture of character's birth province controls what he looks like. That is why you often have barbarian looking consuls when you play as Rome after they have conquered gallic provinces.
