Character has self as succesor?

I just downloaded CK and started a new game as byzantines. I looked at a person called Nikephoros Kaukedenos, and his first listed successor was himself. I checked for duplicates, but there weren't any. I've got a savegame if you like.

I've noticed that everyone in my court has him as successor, probably because of elective law. But I still think its odd to have yourself as your succesor, although this is only minor. I'm sorry if I've created another useless thread, and I will be a bit less hasty next time.

I've seen that too, in courts with elective succession. Usually (always?) the strongest court member (quite often the marshal) has himself as his first successor.
