I'm not sure what is happening exactly, but the children of my colony have just started migrating by foot to another dome across the map. This started right after I built my second mega-dome. Both have nurseries, and schools, but the one they are leaving (the first one) even has children as "preferred", whereas the destination (second one) doesn't.

Before someone asks, I do have something like 70 total shuttles throughout my colony. With one 10 shuttle hub next to each dome. Additionally, there are schools in both domes, but I can't find the setting for teaching "You will die horribly if you try to walk to the other dome." in my schools. So, I obviously have to change out whomever is in charge of education on Mars....

More screen shots, and I tried to find a collection of their stupid little corpses, but their tiny bodies are hard to spot.

ED: The middle screenshot is the dome that they seem to be headed towards. The first one is the comfy, oxygen filled dome that they seem to be fleeing.

Well, I guess I owe an apology to those cute little corps-icles. The adults have apparently followed suit.

P.S. Most ironic name ever. ... You know, since he's going to asphyxiate, and die horribly, when his suit runs out of oxygen. Hilarious.

ED: You can see the shuttle hub in the damn distance too!!

ED2: I added proof that he's running from a dome with 10 idle shuttles. Apparently choosing to die, rather than participate in the use of Mars-Uber. Because the AI CEO controlling the shuttles is sexist?? Not sure, just wish they would stop killing themselves, and get back to making me stuff, so I can make more stuff.

Amazing discovery!! They are also migrating in the opposite direction! I have uploaded a newer version of my zoomed out Children's Trail of Tears (tm) to include the names of the domes. It is still called the Children's Trail of Tears (tm), because getting a new trademark is more work than I care to go through for these colonists.

ED: Next discovery: I'm only seeing children dying, because their tiny little space suits have less o2 (i guess), and their tiny little bodies don't have enough health to gut out the trip. Adults are apparently able to run the whole way. (New screenshot provided). Also, I recant my apology to children. They should just Git Gud, and stop running out of air, or simply refuse to die.

Update: Children of sub-par intelligence continue to perish 100ft outside their domes, on their ridiculous suicide missions. As punishment, I have created an artificial sun outside one of the domes, so that they will never sleep again. Perhaps the lack of sleep will make them so exhausted, that they are unable to wonder out into the wasteland, and die.

If you have Soylent Green, the corpsicles shall provide your colony actual meat to eat. Noms.
