I'm an EU newbie and this is the first 'real' game after tutorial. I started a war with Mughal and managed to siege Delhi (Mughal capitol and CoT) and get it surrender. I had also almost all the other Mughal colonies controlled by me.

Then I wanted to annex new colonies via peace negotiations, but Delhi wasn't on the list. So, what's the point of sieging a capitol if you can't get it? What I'm missing here? Is the only way to completely annex Mughal to start a war, get 3 colonies with peace negotiations, wait 5 years and then repeat the cycle? Our relations are -200 (lowest?) so I doubt of any diplomatic resolution.

I must say that the manual is pretty useless and gets me higly frustrated. :( Please someone help me, thank you. :)

U can only get a country's capital if u totally annex their country.

Controlling a capital gets U 4 stars at the negotiation table though, which is quite handy.

Thanks BiB for your answer. This total annexation, how do I do it? Is it a new option offered with peace negotations if I manage to get control over all the nation's cities & colonies?

I tested what will happen if I just leave my forces to all Mughal Empire provinces and after two years came message:

"Mughal Empire goverment has collapsed"

The result: immediate peace resolution, all his colonies & cities got annexed to my empire except Delphi, their capitol.

I haven't found this in manual. Is this a good strategy to annex major nations?
