China Warlord Annexation in DD

I have never played Nat China in HOI 2 before but have often invaded as Japan or Com China. Normally when you conquer a good proportion of a warlord the country gets annexed by Nat China and it inherits the army. Since installing 1.1 for DD I decided to have a Nat China game.

Firstly Shanxi is my ally and is down to the 1 province below the Yellow River, Japan is in control of the rest - why do I not inherit them?

Com China got steamrolled so I took military control and tried to save their troops by bringing them into my territory. Japan annexed them and their entire army vanished, even though it was on my soil. Surely I should have inherited them like the British do with French, Belgian, Dutch troops etc

Has this changed at some point or are these features AI only?

as china i usually garrison along the rivers below shanxi and wait for the japs to annex shanxi, that way i have a clear path of inheritance and supply all the way to korea.

This was the plan I was going with until Com China got annexed and all their troops vanished leaving the Japanese to break through the now empty front lines.

Also I messed up by not realising that Guangzhou has a beach! :rofl:

Surely I should have inherited them like the British do with French, Belgian, Dutch troops...

These countries all have overseas empires which prevents them from being annexed in the way that happened to Communist China in your case.
