Chrash after "map properly initialed"

Ok, here´s the new thread.

When I try to start rome I only get as far as "map properly initialed" and then the game crash.

I have tried all the things in http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...ad.php?t=351293 but nothing works.

I´ve got Windows Vista 32-bit. A radeon x1650 graphic card with the latest drivers.

I'm getting the same thing. I have Vista 32 SP1. I have patched to 1.1. My video and audio drivers are up to date. I have tried Administrator and compatibility mode and still get the crash.

I hate to be 'one of those guys' but kinda crappy to drop 50 bucks on a game and not be able to even get a glimpse of game play.

Prefect Six, you could try dropping your game resolution down to 1024*768 and see if that helps. If it does not, please start your own thread and supply your settings.txt and system.log files too.

How do you suggest I do that when I can't even get to the title screen?

Or by game resolution you mean my monitor resolution?

Its defaulted at that resolution. I'll make my own thread, thanks for the help.
