Hello Ladies and Gentleladies
first things first: english is not my mothertongue, so dont be to harsh about misspelled words and grammatical disasters please, i do my very best.

I recently downloaded the demo from Cities in Motion and unfortunatly i recognized very fast: This game is not very well playable caused by very low Frames per seconds. As you maybe already guessed, yes i use a system where its possible to change between onboard-graphic-card and my stronger, power-sucking monster. That's why i suppose, that the problem lies somewhere deeper.

Long story short: Is it possible to tell the game which graphic-card it should use? Im not willing to turn the onboard off in bios btw, i just want to tell "use the other"!

The stuff i've heard from this game until now sounds kinda promissing, but if i cant play it, every "hey thats great" comes to a large "but..." and so i'm not willing to buy a game what i cant really play (what is understandable i guess).

Sincerly

The game can't change the gpu, this is the responsibility of your Graphic Driver. You can change these settings usually in the graphic driver settings dialog. 3D Settings for the relevant Application. Right clicking and then selecting what GPU to use is possible alternative with nVidia based solutions...

oh my god:blink::blink::blink:

One big question: Does your machine use Lucid MVP to manage which graphics chip is being used?

On newer hardware (Intel Ivy bridge) Lucid MVP has become "standard". It allows the machine to use the on-board graphics for most applications, and switch to using the powerful graphics card when needed. But, it refers to a list of software for deciding when to use which chip.

Lucid does NOT know about CiM, and will default to using on-board graphics only. To change this, you need to add the CiM exec to the list of games in Lucid, and set it to use "D-mode" (Discrete graphics mode). This will cause it to switch to using the graphics card when playing CiM.

However, even using the powerful card, CiM generally plays "slowly", especially at max speed. Do not expect 60fps - you will be lucky to get 15fps at the fastest simulation speed. So if you have low frame rates, make sure you also check out the FAQ for improving frame rates. The low frame rate is not a game-breaker - the easiest work around is to slow the simulation time to "normal" when you need to build and make lines.
