I bought the CiM package from GameStop and successfully downloaded and installed the main game and all the adons that were part of the package, but when I use the Gamestop App to start the main game, or when I use the Windows start menu, there is a moment of the noises of the computer working, then nothing, as if I'd never started it.

Thanks for looking into this.
 
Please make sure that you have the latest video card drivers installed, it should fix the OpenGL issue that is preventing the game to start. I hope you get it working!
