Well if the negative cost does not say all there is about this game, I don't know what will. I know I know its marketing to get you to try the game then you will want to try the add ons. Sounds like desperate measures. Kind of making me gosh so happy I spent $20 on it.

Well this is a blow to the head to all the supporters of cim2 who pre ordered originally... Thanks CO
This is a rather obvious mistake. You can not actually buy the base game at this moment, you got to buy the collection at -50% which includes DLCs. So no free games even though the -100% really grabbed my attention in the Steam 'specials' page.

I bought this game ages ago in a sale, and wondered how the reviews were so "nice" about it, 70+% metacritic. However, with all this DLC release attention its getting, I started trying to learn it again. So far it’s a very difficult game to play.

I will preserver, because there may just be an amazing game there somewhere, buried under that clunky UI, just waiting to get out. I wasn’t fond of CK2 when I first fired that up, but now I love it, not sure if controlling the price of bus tickets and timetables inspires me quite as much though.

If you wont only the base game, you cannot get it ATM, you'll have to buy the whole Collection to get it.

Yeah, Its called bait and switch advertising, and is illegal in many countries... not to mention just being plain dodgy. The steam forums are going nuts about it... CO are pissing off a lot of people.

Paradox will look into this with Steam immediately. This is either a bug on Steam or an unfortunate human error on Paradox' side, either way I'm very sorry for the misleading information on Steam about the price of Cities in Motion 2.

EDIT: Steam has fixed this issue now. My apologies to everyone!

You won't believe some of the comments in the Steam forums. They're still demanding that the game be sold (or given) to them as advertised or they're threatening legal action. The worst part is that my level of faith in humanity (which is non-existent) says that some will actually find attorneys in order to make their cases.

Gamers' sense of entitlement makes me physically ill sometimes. Thank God I'm middle-aged and was granted some level of intelligence...

There are too many trolls around, especially in the Steam-Forums.
It would be hilarious if it weren't so sad that so many people don't have something better to do with their lifes.

To the topic of legal actions: It is a typical phenomenon. They wouldn't buy the game for 1€, they wouldn't play the game.
But as soon as they see an advertising for a free2play game they suddenly are soooo interested in it, fight for their "rights" and everything becomes so important.
The truth is, most of them would never even find the energy to type "attorney" in google in order to actually look for one. It is just sad.

Just do be clear: I really hope it was just a mistake that the game was presented for -0.01€. If it was on purpose (which of course they could never admit even if it were true), Paradox should really reconsider their morals. However, what's done is done. Now everything is back to normal and CO apologised for the incident although they are not responsible for publishing.

I really seldom check the Steam Forums, since I have noticed that the important issues find their way to this forum.

And thanks for your support! I'm sure Steam and Paradox will handle the situation as they see fit, sometimes it's good to be "just" a developer with no say on the sales or the pricing ;)

If only Joe Q. Public would stop their idle threats and see reason, but instead they'll squawk to anyone who'll listen. In any case, I checked the Steam forums between classes and the moderators are now locking threads left and right (thank God!). However, new ones are opening up, and now they're stating that Valve is wrong for silencing them. (slaps forehead).

To the trolls: WhatEVER. Me myself, I have monorail routes to tweak...
