Game won't launch shows error installing Paradox Launcher v2

What is your game version?
1.16.0-f4

What expansions do you have installed?

What mods are you using?


Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
I installed the game through the epic games library and after that I tried to initialize the game but it shows the following error.

There was a problem starting the
C:\\Window\installer\MSI5E57.tmp

C:\\Window\installer\MSI5E57.tmp is not a valid Win32 application.

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.

You can bypass the launcher by following these instructions:

- Download the attached cities.bat.zip file
- extract cities.bat from it
- Place the .bat file in your game's Steam folder (In the same place as your cities.exe)
- Right click the game in your Steam library
- Go to properties
- Select Set Launch Options
- Copy and Paste cities.bat %command% into the input box
- Select Ok
- Run the game
