Description
Population is slowly being killed off unexplainedly

What is your game version?
Xbox One

What expansions do you have installed?
After Dark,
Snowfall,
Natural Disasters,
Mass Transit,
Green Cities,
Parklife,
Industries,
Campus, All of the above
What mods are you using?

Please explain your issue is in as much detail as possible.
There is a bug that is currently slowly killing off my entire city. I’m fact it’s happening to every city I now load. No one is moving in.
All business are now being abandoned as there is no new workers coming in.

My death rate and birth rate is not the problem as well. The birth is well above the amount of deaths.

I literally cannot play any previous cities I have made. Ever since buying this dlc the population for them all are just dying away. Business citywide are all closing down

This is bs as I only just bought the bloody thing but now can’t even play it!

Can you replicate the issue? If yes, please explain how you did it.
I loaded every city I have and the issue continued to happen in each one.

I uninstalled the game, and it’s still happening after reinstalling.

Xbox One X: I was thinking about a bug, too. My city had 78k and went down to 68k. So I read about death waves in Steam discussion forums caused by big residential zones which were placed at once, where all people die at once when they reach their end of life due to the game mechanics. On PC there is a Mod which changes that mechanic (people have different ages were they die). So that might be the problem in your cases, too. Those death waves never happened to me in smaller cities.
But on the other side I'm not sure since my birth to death rates are positive and I still lose people.

Post your purple population graph, and then your yellow/red birthrate/deathrate graphs and compare it to my death rate defect post.

It might be that you're loading the game and immediately seeing a wave of seniors survive an extra few game months, then begin to die off after totally disrupting your population distribution and work force.

You'll waste a lot of time trying to solve death waves by zoning differently. They're nearly always caused by poor death coverage, and totally never because of zoning quickly.

Many mods break the game to make it easier for players to understand, strange as that seems.

Same Issue, had a stable city on Xbox around 55,000 and noticed my residential demand spiked which I thought was odd because its always between a quarter and half way full. Checked my population distribution and seniors was at around 35% and it keeps climbing, currently at 41%. I'm guessing they tweaked something with this dlc because of the new senior citizen and child health care facilities but its messed up my existing cities. I havent added either of those new facilities to my cities.

I think it's related to high health care giving the seniors the new and sudden boost.

The percentages you describe are identical to my experience, and while the town does stabilize it never recovers fully.

It happened in my 700k experiment (the morning after I finished it) and I thought it could be the med center taking care of seniors. But I loaded a 1 tile city with only basic coverage and it suffered the same issue.

I'm wondering if laying down enough health clinics/saunas will raise the senior life expectancy to max.
And in our stable cities do we have already sufficient coverage that our seniors are all getting a miracle extension to their lives
(and ruining our pension system :p)

I wonder if this is related to all Health care services ie hospitals and clinics not woking any longer.

All mine are saying are 0/8 Ambulences in use... 0/30 for hospitals

I noticed because no one was coming to pick up sick cims due to noise... sure enough... no ambulences on the roads at all!

Can anyone else confirm?

In my existing cities I am still getting ambulances to collect the sick. The issue for me is Im getting a huge swell in seniors which I believe would be unrelated to the ambulances even if they werent going out. Ive gone back and loaded an old save, one prior to downloading the new dlc and I'll just let time pass without adding any buildings or new zones and after a few in game months my deathrate drops to like 1 or 2 a week. So like Sheller said it appears the seniors lifespans have increased without even adding the eldercare building.

This is also happening in my game suddenly. I've never had that problem at least in this city. I am on PS.

I also am not seeing any ambulances. It's saying 0 too when I click on them but I do see the dead people getting picked up. Just no ambulances.
