Other players are having issues with saving as well. A potential workaround which may or may not work is to turn off the autosave setting and then try save manually. No word on exactly when a fix will come, but they are aware of the issue.

Do we know how we will find out when it's fixed? Do we just have to keep trying?
The game is getting new new content for existing DLCs as well as new DLC on March 22. I'm unsure if it'll release for the Remastered version since it still doesn't have all of them, but if it does I'd expect it to be fixed with the update.

We are aware of it and are investigating.
What would be helpful would be the following

  • Were any cheats used such as Unlock all, or 25 tiles?
  • Was Quick resume enabled? (specifically this one)
  • Was it a base game map or a custom one?
  • Which console are you playing on?
  • Save game size

I did click the 25 tile unlock. I believed quick resume is enabled. It was two base game maps. X box series x. The game size is 16.32 mb

I'm having the same issue.

Cheats: 25 tiles
Quick Resume is enabled, and I utilize it A LOT. Sometimes the game will sit in quick resume for days.
Custom Map
Xbox Series X
Save Game Size: 16.27 MB

Any progress yet? This is an absolute joke. I upgraded to series s and re purchased digital as I was on xbox one and had it on disc. Just so I could get 25 tiles!!! Not only has it cost me physically but it has cost me in the sense I can no longer play other games I had on disc. I want compensation!!!

You’ve been “investigating” for 3 months now

Not only has there been 0 updates but 3 months later you’re asking the SAME QUESTIONS meaning you’ve made little to no progress, or I’d only assume.

Am I going to get a refund for a game I bought that I CANT EVEN PLAY?? I know I won’t be refunded for upgrading to the series x to get remastered and have 25 tiles. Nor for the headset I had to buy to be compatible with new gen….

thanks for a great game though! Time of my life up until 300k pop and 16MB….. Shicago will never be finished it seems:((

Hello,
Is anyone else getting an error message on remastered when you try to save your city? It happens to me in 25 tile mode at about 80k population
It’s been a problem since it was released ~3 months ago. They’ve not said a thing and have just ignored the community affected by it. I wouldn’t expect it to get patched.
I
I had a 300k pop when I couldn’t save anymore, but that was months ago of course

So this company WILLINGLY sold a broken game? And even if they didn’t know about it beforehand. They announce nothing about it? Where’s our refunds?
I honestly gave up. I haven’t played any of the cities skylines since early March. Can’t go back to the old game with 9 tiles. Not buying anymore content until this is fixed.

They won’t listen unless we all don’t buy the game at first. It’s just about the money it seems
well I hope not. the reason I purchased the whole game instead of just playing it via gamepass, and all the DLC was because I wanted to support the company for making such a fantastic game. now I'm having a little bit of buyers remorse -.-
I heard once that it costs a lot of money to push an update on console. don't know if that's true, but that may be a reason why it's taking so long.

Unfortunately it seems a lot of people did the same and now we’re just left wondering ‘well what the hell’ after having bought everything.

you realize they’ve updated consoles 2x since this has been released. Both updates were minimal.

I can’t say I’ve ever heard of a company having to pay to update their game? Can anyone confirm this is true?

found this in another forum.
"Around 2010, they said they no longer charge independent devs, only now major publishers, and dont charge until a game title starts getting “excessive” patches.

From what I understand major AAA games are limited to a couple patches each year on those consoles if they want to avoid costs."
