The first sprite to make entrance is.....

Japanesse Ha-Go tank (or Kha-Go, io´m not sure:D ). It will be JAP L1 panzer... hopefully someday will be L2;) . Original sprite for Civ3 made by Kinboat.

Download link and preview in the first post

Type 95 HA-GO Light Tank (1935-42)

Mitsubishi 6.5 ton light tank. Armament: 1 x 37mm Gun, 2 x 7.7mm MG. Speed: 40 mph. Armor 6-12mm. An excellent tank using an air-cooled diesel engine that provided an excellent power to weight ratio. Its small size and good cross-country capabilities made it very effective in China. As other Japanesse tanks its good travel capabilities made it very usefull in the jungle war, where the Japanesse were the first in use tanks taking the british commanders, who thought that it was impossible to move tanks thorugh the pacific jungles, completely by surprise.

I´ve finished M3G 'Nell' Japanesse L1 Tacbomber, but the guy that made it (the same as the Gladiator) doesn´t seem to be online since a week or two, so i don´t have its authorization yet... i don´t know what to do, maybe the best will be waiting, someday he has to read the forums and his pms!:(

Ive updated the first post with the M3G 'Nell' Preview, IMO the conversion quality is acceptable... i´m starting to learn.:)

I think you shoud go ahead and use them.

They are not copy-write - you are not making money from them, and he put them into the public domain, so that people can enjoy the sprite work...

I can't see that there would be objections that you used existing CIV III sprites and adapted them for HOI - if you were selling them there would be a problem - but you are not...

Besides - are they ever going to find out???

Finally i got authors approval!!

Here you have the Gloster Gladiator by Aaglo
It was my first adaptation and the quality is not very good :(

What ive done:

-Adapted the sprite files and format to Hoi
-Changed colour, it was grey and didn't look as a combat plane
-Added RAF symbols
-Added some extra animations, Civ3 plane sprites are very rigid
-Added to the zip file the spr files necesary to make original ENG fighter sprite L2 sprite, it will represent from Hurricane MkI to Jetfighters, while the Gladiator sprite will represent only the Gladiator model. (L1)

Gloster Gladiator

Maybe the less known of the RAF fighters in WW2, but it could be found in almost all fronts in the first years of the war. While the Home Defence fighter cover was early fitted with the modern Hurricanes and Spitfires, during the first stages of the war, in the rest of the fronts the RAF had to rely mainly in the Gladiator while his 'big brothers' were present in little numbers. The Gloster Gladiator was mainly used in North Africa, Greece, Malta, Asia and the Pacific, and armed only with .303 cal MGs fought against modern fighters as the Bf109 or the deadly and superb Japanesse Mitsubishi Zero. It´s one of the few combat biplanes that have a completely closed cockpit, and it has a charasteristic stilized shilouette compared to other contemporary biplanes as the I-16 or the Hs-123.

M3G Nell

The prototype was first flown in July 1935. Service trials made it clear that Mitsubishi had developed an excellent aircraft notable for its exceptional range. In June 1936 it went into production - designated the Navy Type 96 attack bomber Model 11 its Mitsubishi designation was G3M1.
This, the first production version, was powered by two 910 hp Mitsubishi Kinsei 3 radial engines, and had a defensive armament of three 7.7 mm (0.30 caliber) machine-guns, in two dorsal and one ventral turrets, all turrets being retractable. Only 34 of this version were produced before 1,075 hp Kinsei radials became available. These resulted in the G3M2 Model 21, which as well as the more powerful engines had increased fuel capacity.
The new aircraft soon demonstrated their capabilities on 14 August 1937 when a force of G3M2s based on Taipei in Formosa attacked targets in China 1,250 miles away - the first transoceanic air attack in history.
The Model 21 was succeeded by the G3M2 Model 22 in which the defensive armament was increased to one 20mm cannon and four 7.7 mm machine-guns. The crew was increased from five to seven, including two additional gunners to man the enhanced armament. The Model 23 featured Kinsei 51 engines and further increased fuel capacity.
In all 1,048 G3Ms were built, many of which were converted for use as transports. In the Pacific War the allies designated the bomber versions 'Nells' and the transports 'Tinas'.
The G3M remained in service throughout the war , although by 1943 the majority were being employed in second-line duties. It was succeeded by the Mitsubishi G4M - allied codename 'Betty'. Mitsubishi G3Mss and G4Ms achieved their most spectacular operational success on 10 December 1941, when off the coast of Malaya they sank - with torpedoes - the British battleship 'Prince of Wales' and battlecruiser 'Repulse'.

nachinus some great sprite you have here :) Finally you're on to sprite making. I think you did the right thing to wait for author's approval. Anyway, I've just found a software CompuPic Pro, which takes away a hefty amount of work on putting the final frames in place. You and other spriters should give it a go: it automates the process.

Thanks;)

Mmm, that CompuPic thing sounds interesting... is supose it's not freeware, right?:(

Of course its freeware :D. Well, shareware for 15 days ithink. You should try it out. With it I've shorten my work considerably. Do a search on download.com. Some exotic vehicles you have here. I don't remember seeing these in Civ3? Is it custom made?

well i hope youll still have a chance to make many new sprites, because they really great. with you and sekinoss, the future looks bright for all sprite lovers.

I am not sure the Gladiator sprite is working - it seems to flicker and jump about when standing still...

Have others got it working yet?

Mmm, maybe is a problem with the Zip file, and each file doesn't go where it should. Unfortunatelly i havent my computer here, so could you check if each file goes to its place? Theoretically, the Zip file should work fine, make sure the 'use folder names' option checked and extract the file to your main HoI directory.

The files are right, as ive tested it and im currently playing UK with those sprites without any problem.;)

Ive finished Japanese marines and im waiting for authors response. Also, I'm about to finish B25 sprite and will post it very soon, as i have Aaglos authorisation. It's my first non-exotic model sprite:D

It was the standing spite - it passes from left to right rather than standing still...

If it works for you, then it's something with me - and I shall investigate, as it's nice to have Gladiators with the correct sprite, and spitfires with their correct sprite.

(I'm anal like that).

Finished B25 Mitchell US Tacbomber

Made by Aaglo

What ive done:
-Adapt it to Hoi
-Add some animations, as usual

B25 Mitchell

The North American B-25 Mitchell was an American designed twin-engined medium bomber, which was approved in September 1939, following an Army Air Corps competition, but instead of waiting for the prototypes, the Army awarded production contracts to North American for the B-25 and Martin for the B-26. The prototype B-25 made its maiden flight less than a year later, on 19 August, 1940. The XB-25 and the first production models had wings with a constant dihedral from roots to tips, but starting from the 10th airplane off the production line, the outer wings were re-rigged flat to give the characteristic gull wing arrangement.
Named in honor of US airpower proponent Brig. Gen. William "Billy" Mitchell, the B-25 served in every theater of World War II and was made in larger quantities than any other American twin-engine combat airplane. The 17th Bomb Group at McChord Field, Wash., was the first unit to receive B-25s in 1941. The 75-mm cannon in the B-25G/H was used with mixed results, primarily against ships. Recoil from the cannon was 21 inches and momentarily stopped the plane in flight. A total of over 11,433 B-25s were built.

It was also flown by the UK, Netherlands, Taiwan, and Brazil. A number of surplus B-25s were used by civilian operators as aerial camera ships for Hollywood movies. On 21 May, 1960, the last serving aircraft, a VB-25J staff transport, was retired from service at Eglin AFB, Fla.

Perhaps the most memorable B-25 event was on 18 April, 1942, when Lt. Col. James H. "Jimmy" Doolittle led the Doolittle Raid, in which 16 Army Air Corps B-25B crews took off from the aircraft carrier USS Hornet (CV-8) and bombed Tokyo and other targets, the first time US aircraft had bombed Japan.
