Preface: long time ago @religiousphanatic showed us how beneficial a good civil war could be, and this weekend on the Invictus Mod, @Edgar Harford also showed how civil wars help keep characters loyal with a minimum cost. IMHO, by focusing all the power base to heads of families in order to provoke civil wars for the casual player, PDS has made it too easy for the experienced player to play out the heads of families and abuse the mechanic of civil wars to reset loyalties across the board.

Observation: When a civil war is won the player gets a character loyalty boost and province loyalty boost.

Suggestion: Instead of a reset on loyalty, winning a civil war should give a stability boost and legitimacy gain for monarchies or party support in republics.

Objective:

Civil wars do not change the loyalty of provinces or characters. This way, after a civil war your rebellious provinces and characters will still be angry with you, forcing the player to take other decisions to tackle this problem on the long run instead of using civil wars to reset their loyalty.

Is it possible to learn this power? lol

*Edit*

I agree that Civil War as it's currently exist can be cheese to provide loyalty boost and make you not worry about loyalty for sometimes but I personally wouldn't do it cuz I hate how Civil War disrupt my pace (especially fvk up my trade, if IR has good automate trade system it wouldn't be much problem but alas) and oppunistic AI hounding on me the moment they smell blood.

Flashback to when one of my client state got wardec spiral into my civil war then Rome and Seleucid wardec me at the same time, basically I'm fighting 4 war at once...

I will admit that it's exhilarating but if I can choose I woudn't want it again lol

Also speaking about civil war what is the deal with releasing subject via mission will nap one of your country great family character to be ruler of said subject and if this character is pretender then they some how will evaluate their powerbase against their own country for the purpose of starting civil war in your country.

And it's because they are ruler of their own country making that it's inevitable for the civil war to happen in your country.

My current work around is to cancel subject then conquer them lol
