I hope that the MP playability will be much better than in EU2. Dont take me wrong, I love EU. But I hate it not to be able to play stable EU campaigns over internet.

Better learn from that mistakes as it is so important nowadays that a game is playable in mp mode, that counts even more for a fantastic mp game like CK seems to become...

Let's hope that Snowball decides to use UDP as opposed to DirectPlay, otherwise 56k players will be unable to play the game at decent speeds.

Or the ones with a bit strange network configuration :(
DirectPlay=evil

I agree. I have never played a game that works so bad in MP as EU II. I think they have learned something from it. Maybe Sergei can tell us more.

I haven't played EUII on MP yet, but the Muslim world would be toast in CK in MP.

Really looking forward to CK multiplayer, seems like it will work much better then EU2 which worked fine playing 1on1 but not othervise. It was still great to multiplayer EU2 but more people and still beeing able to play at descent speed (1.4) would be great.

is it going to be simultanous turns for players or traditional turn based ?

Turn based would be great! Alas it is based on the EU engine and is therefore continuous time.:(

Although I'm a complete TBS fan, I'm glad that it will work like in EU. Consider how much time one turn would take if you had to wait until every dynasty has done it's move(s).

real time is good too but should include a turn based system based on time allocation which will be nice for peeps who want to plan or play deeper and avoid distractions other players can use by diplomatic summons to mass their troops on the kingdom's borders and suddenly declare war happened to me in new civ 3 addon beta testing that is also real time on line too...

You mean like the role playing game?:)

As i understand it, it'll work just like EU2 realtime with pause option, not 100 % sure though.

I certainly hope it's not going to be real-time... I don't think I have 300+ years to play a full game. :)
